- Using eye contact by looking at the camera instead of the computer screen.
- Warmly addressing individual students to encourage discussion.
- Seeking feedback to make sure students are comfortable with the online activities.
- Checking each student has access to computer (without making answers public!) 
- Maybe starting each online teaching session with game, quiz...
- Taking time at beginning to greet students. Build classroom climate of calm, cheerfulness... to remove barriers to online learning.
- Seeking opportunities to connect assessment to holistic wellbeing, wider world. 
- Keeping instruction simple. 
- Reminding students there are no stupid questions (as probably more likely to stay silent online?)
- Continuing to praise effort.
