Experience #1
- My senior year of high school I served as the Vice President of Public Relations for my school's chapter of FCCLA. Before my year of service, past officers had not really put much effort into what it truly meant to hold this position. However, I wanted to change that. Throughout the year, I learned more and more about different aspects of public relations and developed a love for social media marketing. I learned as I went, taught myself everything, and was very active in ensuring that I was properly marketing our chapter in the community and on various social media platforms. As you have read, I was actively learning and teaching myself various marketing skills that I would then pass along to the next Vice President of Public Relations!

Experience #2
- Throughout my life, I have performed in various theatrical productions. However, it all began somewhere. As you may know, musical theatre involves three main aspects for performers: singing, dancing, and acting. I had taken singing lessons from a young age and acting had come natural to me. Dance was never a struggle either until I started trying to transition into more professional theatre. That's when I began to absorb everything that I could about the art of dance so that I could become better and better. I would take little tid bits from various choreographers or teachers and practice them until I had developed an advanced repertoire for dance. I was actively learning this form of art and getting better each and every day.

Experience #1
- This past summer I served as an Orientation Guide for the University of Memphis. Going into this experience, I was puzzled in various ways. I was surrounded by a group of diverse individuals who pushed me to reflect on things, which caused me to form my own opinions about things and my own models of doing something. This experience truly pushed me to be reflective and was a very rewarding and constructive activity for myself. and the rest of the Orientation Guide team.

Experience #2
- This past week, I had to create a self introduction video for my Oral Communications class. We were told to post our videos in a discussion board so that our classmates could give us feedback on them, and one student commented a little bit of negative feedback on mine. At first, I was a bit taken back by the comment and didn't really understand where he was coming from. However, I then realized that he simply had a different opinion as to how the assignment should have been done. Once I came to that realization, I realized that I had made a model in my head of what my video was supposed to be or come across as. I reflected on what the student had said so that I could come to the conclusion that technically we were both right, and that we just had different ways of doing the assignment.

Experience #1
- This past week, I began decorating our door at my job. This has always been a tradition, and I was so excited to finally be able to participate in it! I began by collaborating with my coworkers and seeing which ideas of mine that they liked the most. We all came to the decision as to what we wanted on our door and it turned out great! Through the power of collaboration, we were able to accomplish our goal and get the task completed.

Experience #2
- During high school, I participated in my class's Prom Committee. This was a collaborative effort for all of us as we had to put our differences aside in order to plan our prom. This was definitely challenging at times, as we had many headstrong individuals, but we kept our class in mind and planned a prom that would be enjoyed by everyone. As we all learned to be cooperative, we reached our goal together as a team.

Experience #1
- In high school, my physical science teacher was really good at giving us real world examples and activities in order to learn difficult concepts. One example of this was when she required us to build roller coasters and tiny cars to ride on them, in order to illustrate speed and velocity to us. We were put into groups and had to come up with what we thought would be the most efficient design for our cars. Using this real world or hands on example of speed and velocity required us to think more critically. Furthermore, it allowed us to put the things we learned out of the textbook into the context of the world around us.

Experience #2
- Before changing positions at the after school program that I work at, I used to always help all of the students with their homework. A few of the students absolutely hated doing their homework. However, I would try my best to make it more fun and enjoyable for them by making up real world examples that went along with what they were learning. This proved to her very beneficial for the students, and their test cores began to reflect that. Simply putting the information in a way that made sense to them and related to their lives was all that they needed!

Intentional (Goal-directed/Regulatory)

Experience #1
-This past week, I started a new position at my job that I've had for over a year. I was a bit nervous for the changes and the new responsibilities that would come from becoming the Secretary, but was eager to learn new things that could ultimately help me later in life. As the Secretary, I am mainly responsible for communicating with the students' parents and collecting their fees from them. Before this, I did not have too much experience dealing with parents. However, I looked at this opportunity as a way for me to one day reach my goal of becoming a teacher. Furthermore, dealing with parents is essential to being a successful teacher, so taking this position was completely intentional and goal-directed.

Experience #2
- I plan to audition for a production of "Peter Pan" next month. A few days before the audition, the theater is hosting an audition workshop for those who will be auditioning for the show. I have contemplated signing up for it, but I still have not decided whether I will or not. However, this workshop serves as a direct example of Intentional Learning. By participating in the audition workshop, I would be given the opportunity to learn the dance combination early. This would more than likely increase my chances of reaching my goal of being cast in the production. As you can see, it would be intentional and goal oriented for me to participate in the audition workshop.
