It truly is a pleasure to be apart of the ILO Living Wage and Wage Setting Course. I'm excited to broaden my knowledge and dive into with all the topics this course entails.

Now, we all know times are changing, and conversations about wages are more important than ever, not just for workers, but for the growth and balance of our entire society.

My name is Kendra Baptiste, and I am a teacher at a Secondary School in the beautiful island of Grenada, in the Caribbean.

I am an active member of the Grenada Union of Teachers, and I am eager to deepen my understanding of living wage concepts and wage-setting mechanisms.

I look forward to gaining practical insights into how wage systems can balance fairness and economic sustainability as we share our experiences from our varying countries.

I am Janine Phillips hailing from the twin isle paradise of Trinidad and Tobago. I work at Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago. I am a serving member of the Seamen and Waterfront Workers Trade Union. I am extremely pleased to have been chosen to participate in this venture. And anticipate the knowledge that I would gain through this exposure.wledge

It is indeed a privilege to be a part of this living wage discussion via the International Labour Organization as I continuously look forward to bringing new ideas to our trade union.

I was immediately drawn to this course after reviewing its content and objectives. The themes of living wages, wage-setting mechanisms, and the role of social dialogue and collective bargaining are deeply relevant to my work and to the challenges faced by workers in my country. I am eager to expand my understanding of these issues from the ILO perspective and to explore innovative approaches that can strengthen the union’s capacity to advocate for fair and decent wages.

My name is Julienne Sanchez and I am from the small country of Belize. I am employed at the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) as a Portfolio Officer and am an active member of the DFC/Christian Worker's Union Branch.

My aim is to gain a deep understanding of living wage and wage-setting mechanisms to strengthen my knowledge and contribute more effectively to our collective voice. I hope to use the insights gained from this course to support the union in advocating for fair, inclusive and equitable wage-setting processes.
