Many of these ores like iron formed from chemical reactions with oxygen from the environment. Iron is pretty much used for everything. It’s used as one of the metals in my laptop, it’s in the steel used in my medieval armor and it’s the metal used for my car(despite the fact I can’t drive). There are many other things iron is used for but this tangent would be longer than the Bible. There are some minerals like evaporites which are basically salt deposits that come from evaporated seawater. There are also minerals like clay that are used for pottery for plates, cups and pots. Not to mention gemstones. Gemstones are crystal ores like diamonds, sapphire, emeralds and many many more. They’re prized for their beauty and their rarity. So the current challenge with mining for minerals is obtaining them with minimal cost.
