Acceleration: Acceleration is related to roller coasters because roller coasters change speed and direction. The rate at which roller coasters change direction and speed is known as acceleration. Roller coasters with a large acceleration change speed and direction rapidly.

G: "G" is a unit of acceleration equal to the acceleration caused by gravity. When you're on a roller coaster, you're experiencing g when your going down.

Centripetal/Centrifugal Forces: Centripetal force is a force that pulls objects inward. In a roller coaster this force is apparent when your going through a loop. Centrifugal forces are the opposite of Centripetal. Centrifugal pushes objects outward.

Momentum: Momentum is often occurring in every day life. An object that is moving at a higher velocity has more momentum. An object that is moving slower, has a slower momentum. And an object that is at rest, has no momentum. In roller coasters, you can see the momentum by how fast it is traveling.

Weightlessness: Many rides at amusement parks have weightlessness. Weightlessness is an external force acting upon your body. Although you do not change weight at all, It makes the rider feel like you do not weigh anything!

Kinetic energy changes when you slow down or start going up a hill. When you're climbing the hill of a roller coaster, potential energy is building and building, until you get to the top. When you are at the top, gravity wants to pull the car down.

They were made in the russian mountains on the slippery ice. They were made as tall as 70 and 80 feet and consisted of a 50 degree drop. Many countries in Europe to this day use the term "Russian Mountains" for roller coasters. Roller coasters were loved by many upper class citizens.

How does a roller coaster continue to move through the twists
and turns of a track if it only uses an engine at the very beginning?

A roller coaster often begins with a chain and motor to lift the train to the top of a
vary tall hill. When the cars are at the top of the hill, they are gaining tons of potential energy. When the coaster gets pulled down by gravity, its gaining lots of kinetic energy. This change between kinetic and potential energy carry's the coaster throughout the track. The biggest hill is normally the first hill because you want to have the most kinetic energy at the start.
