Materials:

Instructions:

Each student will get 10 teddy bears, a white board, an expo marker and a white board eraser.
Give student materials.
Read out simple teddy bear math problems and have them act them out with their bears and white boards.
“Joey has 5 teddy bears, Monica gave him 3 more. How many teddy bears does Joey have now?”
"Chandler has 10 teddy bears, he gave 8 of them to Ross. How many teddy bears does Chandler have now?”
Have the students act out the problems with their mini bears for each problem.
Then have them draw it out as well on their white boards for each problem.
Finally ask students if they’d like to show their findings to the class by explaining what they did to get their answer, then ask everyone to turn to their neighbor and explain how they got their answers.
