Pros:
- Cheaper labour/manufacturing cost
- Decreasing tariffs on Canadian products
- China is an emerging market

Cons:
- Language and cultural barrier
- The two countries have different political views
- China is not reliable in terms of protecting intellectual property

Reflection:
Although Canada and China have different languages, business practices and political views, Canada should work to keep its positive trade relationship with China as it is mutually beneficial for both countries. China is able to supply many different products to Canada with a lower production cost and that allows the Canadian consumer to access goods at a lower cost, while also providing business to Chinese manufacturers. In addition, having a good trade relationship with China is essential in today's unstable economic climate as it lessens the effects of a trade war with the U.S. as NAFTA is being renegotiated.

Pros:
- Many raw materials
- High demand of services
- High demand of equipment and machinery
- Shared interest in Arctic
- Large population
Cons:
- Strict business and travel regulations
- Large cultural differences
- Produces similar products (more like a competitor than a partner)
- Large time difference
- High political tension
Reflection:
Trade with Russia is only temporary and may not be profitable in the future. After the collapse of the USSR, Russia had needed services, and manufactured goods to be imported while they exported their raw materials. Now as Russia develops its own manufacturing facilities, they will begin to import less and less Canadian services. Russia's GDP per capita is growing faster than Canada's and Russia is more of a competitor now. They have the same raw resources as Canada and it's really hard to say if Russia will be a good trading partner in the near future especially with the political tension between the two nations.

Belgium has products that would be useful for the Canadian economy and businesses such as automobiles parts and computers. They also have established trading partners already with countries like Germany, France and the united kingdom. Both countries invest similar amounts in each other which can be seen as a positive and negative thing. Although, that money could be used in Canada it is beneficial to have an even playing field and mutual understanding by investing similar amounts of money in each other. Belgium also has a large diamond trading market as it is the centre of the world’s diamond trade and already assists in developing the diamond industry in Canada. There seems to be more pros that out-way the cons such as the Canadian dollar being worth less than a Euro. Overall we would say trading with Belgium would be a good choice.
