Step 1-During the first group meeting we will have several ice breakers to get the members relaxed and get to know the other members a little better. I will also go over the group norms and expectations during this session and at the beginning of every meeting. Confidentiality will also be addressed at every meeting.

Step 2-This stage will be the progress monitoring part of the group. I will use observation of behaviors to determine how the group is progressing but I will also give the members a survey at the end of session three. If a member is not progressing as expected there will be a conversation with them to see what, if any, changes need to be made.

Step 3-At the last weekly meeting of the group, we will have a group discussion about what was learned and how they plan to continue working on themselves. I plan to have follow up meetings once a month with the group to check in and guide them with any questions or problems they are having.

(American School Counselor Association, 2021)

With Lopez's Lunch Bunch, I hope to have a combination leadership style of Participative Leadership and Transformational Leadership. Both leadership styles bring characteristics the students need to encourage participation and help the members make the group "their" group. As the group facilitator, both styles allow me to effectively lead the group while encouraging the members quality participation.

(Cherry, 2023)

There are several factors that may be present in Lopez's Lunch Bunch because of the the emotional nature of the group. Some of the potential factors are Universality, Altruism, Direct Advice, and Interpersonal Learning. Universality is one of the biggest potential factor due to the member not realizing before group that other students also have a parent who is incarcerated. Once they realize that they are not alone and are more than just a child of a parent in prison, I hope they will want to reach out of their circle to help others.

(Yalom & Leszcz, 1995)
