         <title>The future is unknown. To be a leader is to have a vision, and lead your followers towards the future you seek. Some leaders have had power struggles, boosted egos, and with those leaders they fall hard. Being a leader is to become your follower. Those you lead should never be ‘under’ you, nor should they ever have to complete a task that you, yourself will not do. There are many important factors that pertain to being a leader, but of these, a vision and a goal are most valuable.  A vision is said to be, “The first step in setting goals and priorities is to personally develop what the organization should look like at some point in the future.”  My vision would be “To spread the power of optimism.”</title>

         <title>   Increase My Knowledge            A good leader never stops learning and always wants to improve his skill set. Making a list of areas I would like to improve, such as acquiring a specific skill set or improving your existing abilities, can help me to become a more well-rounded, valuable leader. After identifying places for improvement, seek ways to obtain this knowledge. Attending industry-relevant conferences or lunch-and-learn sessions at my office, asking for extra assignments at work, finding a mentor, taking online courses and subscribing to applicable professional blogs are all ways to expand my knowledge and improve my job performance.</title>

         <title> Improve Interpersonal Skills                 To be an effective leader I need to have good people skills. My employees and colleagues should feel comfortable coming to me with any problems they have, not intimidated and afraid of my reaction. Taking the time to ask for the opinions of my colleagues and listening carefully to the viewpoint of each person also shows that I respect them. My colleagues also will appreciate the little things, such as paying them a compliment for work well done or remembering the name of a person I’ve recently met. A short video attached of Simon Sinek is attached that reflects on relationship and leadership.</title>

         <title>Achieving these goals would help me in Effectively Managing my Workload. Knowing how to effectively manage my workload is an important part of being a good leader. Learning how to delegate tasks out to employees, prioritize, set realistic deadlines, avoid distractions and say no to unreasonable requests can help to increase my sense of job satisfaction and that of my staff. This also enables me to produce work of a higher quality, because I will be able to place more focus on the projects I should be spending my time on.</title>
