This, as you well know, plays a pivotal role in children’s personal development, well-being and happiness, enabling them to fulfil their potential.

There are several significant points that are worthy of special mention:

Methods for eliciting, hearing and responding children’s voices are broad and extensive.
Staff are skilled in monitoring excitement and anxiety, and they have a deep understanding of survival behaviours.
There is an emphasis on children’s past experiences as a tool for understanding the child in the present.

This is a food education charity that works to teach children about food and where it comes from. We took part in a beautiful storytelling workshop celebrating friendship, belonging, and the courage of starting somewhere new.

We stepped inside a suitcase of surprises and joined Tara Tickle; who told the heart-warming tale of My Friend Flo. The children participated in the story telling using props, songs, dance and actions; bringing the story to life – and found out how Flo travelled all the way from the Caribbean to England on the Empire Windrush.

The children talked about what makes them the same, what makes them different, and how friendship can blossom across cultures.
