At first I did not consider teaching, as I did not enjoy high school as much as I could and should have. A lot of that had to do with my brother, who has an intellectual disability, and my compassion for my family and what he was going through in school. Math is not my favorite, but I took it because it was open and I did not even have to apply because they wanted to fill the vacancy as quickly as possible. Initially I was a co-teacher for Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2, and I had my own Study Skills class. I had to relearn a lot of math but I came to enjoy it more than I thought I would have. The following year I had my own resource Geometry class and resource Financial Math class and also co taught two periods of US/AZ History.
