What is my vision?

I am determined and motivated to complete my Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree where I can either do counselling or human resource management positions within private organisations. I have a vision of me holding my degree completion at graduation where I feel a sense of achievement and gratitude. This image constantly gives me inspiration and motivation to keep focused.

My values are respect, integrity, loyalty, honesty, family, hardworking, kind, empathetic, compassionate, independent and being open minded. I have many different interests such as cooking and creating recipes, gardening and growing my herbs and vegetables and lastly, working in business management roles where I can assist businesses to implement systems including new processes and policies to streamline a business.

What inspires me?

I find myself being more creative when I am outside enjoying nature, I like to switch off from the world and to just be outside. The time that I connect with nature I become present and in tuned with my thoughts and I start to decompartmentalise.

I see this as my own de briefing moment, where I can reflect on my day and have conversations within my thoughts thanking myself of all the goals that I have completed within a day. If, I am having a bad day – I usually like to cook and be in the kitchen, I find cooking very therapeutic and is a way for me to filter my stresses away. Being in nature to rest and cooking to stress release both are factors of my inspiration. It helps me to think clearer and to stay focused and on track with my desired goals and outcomes.

Who is a thought leader in my industry that I admire?

I would have to say my director whom I work for she is a Breast and General Surgeon who grew up in Iran and later moved to the United Kingdom where she completed further training in Breast Oncoplastic Surgery and obtained her Fellowship in Breast and General Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. Then moved to Australia in 2011 where she obtained a Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon in General Surgery in 2016. Since, hearing her story I have been so deeply inspired by her hard work and dedication where she was able to start a new life in Australia for her being a foreigner it was difficult for her to adjust to the new environment with her language barrier although, this was not a deterrent she continued to study and to better her English.

It has been over 7 years since her and her husband opened a surgical practice in Toowoomba and continues to be one of the busiest practices in Toowoomba where both surgeons operate every week with full surgery lists. Through, knowing her story and her battles that she went through, made me realise how grateful I am to be Australian; I am very fortunate to have been born and raised in a society that many people in the world would have wished and dreamt of. It is amazing to hear such stories of people from another country arriving in Australia with a dream and vision to call Australia home and to make dreams become a reality.

I admire those who work hard and appreciate the simplicity of life, it starts by being humble and grounded. Building a foundation through having strong values and morals can provide the necessities in cultivating self determination to complete goals in life. Whether the current situation or circumstances may seem unlikely to change I believe the goal is to have a positive mindset.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

My goal is to hopefully become a counsellor or a human resource manager working in government or private organisation. I require to come a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) where I can apply for roles in this field. However, not only is a bachelor requiring further skills are required such as high-level effective communication skills that encompass, patience, empathy, personable, empathy and active listening.

Although this skill is highly acquired it is also just important to have organisational skills, adaptable and work well a team player, exceptional writing skills. Be able to resolve and mitigate conflict diplomatically build strong rapport and trust. Although, these various skills are required it is essential to continue to learn and improve by attending training workshops or up skilling through higher education.

cooking and trying different recipes, I enjoy cooking I find it very therapeutic for me. Particularly, after a big day at work, I find it relieves so much stress when I can cook. It slows me down and makes me unwind.
Fitness, I definitely feel that fitness is always a trend. My partner and I train together every Saturday's with a personal trainer. She is helping us get back our motivation.

Both of my parents are very influential to me, I have grown up around hard working parents who value and appreciate everything in life. They both taught me the importance of hard work. I have been very grateful that I have had the privilege to be able to travel at such a young age where I was exposed to so many different cultures and how people lived. This made me at a young age appreciate what I have in Australia.
My director is one of influencers and role model, she is a Breast and General Surgeon, I have worked as her Practice Manager in her clinic for over 1 year and we have developed a strong work and friendship relationship.
My partner is a positive influence, he owns his own business and is so motivated and driven. He is very positive and happy just like myself, we both have the same visions and goals in life and both are very supportive of each other with our own career paths.
My best friends, all of them each play their own roles in my life, however jointly all are so inspirational in their own right. We all support one another and are always there when I need them or vice versa. Partially when I need to vent or to cry, they are always there for me.
