I remember sitting in my 9th grade English class having deep discussions. Mrs. Garza brought in media and technology with this lesson. We got to see interviews with some of the survivors of this historic event. I remember  my teacher telling us that she didn't  mind it was considered a burned book. She supported our interests in various genres. Her motto was "whatever to make us read". She made every reading meaningful, and to this day I remember the book. I utilized them to practice my reading skills and fluency. The Tortoise and the Hare was my all time favorite.
