         <description><![CDATA[<div>One problem that humans face in today's tech-savy world is that our technology can not withstand freezing cold or hot weather. I have had several peers complain of this problem and I also conducted research on incidents where phones got so cold that they shut off. <br><br>I discovered on Getorchard.com that according to Battery University, " cold temperature increases the internal resistance and diminished the capacity of a li-ion battery." Which is the kind of battery used in iPhones.<br><br>I looked further into this problem and decided that I wanted to use the bottle-nosed dolphins thermoregulation adaptation of increased insulation to help with this problem to help our iPhones and other forms of technology sustain a variety of weather climates.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;The <strong>first </strong>prototype (top left hand corner) consisted of a cell phone case with a layer of insulation&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; through out the whole case that has a variety of small holes so that heat can be retained preventing the phone from shutting off from cold weather, however, it will keep the phone from shutting off due to over heating.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

The blowhole is covered by a muscular flap, which provides a watertight seal. (Seaworld.com) Also according to Seaworld.com, The dolphin exchanges 80% or more of its lung air. This is much more efficient than humans, who exchange only about 17% of their lung air with each breath.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Swimming, diving and sleeping</strong> are other things that the dolphin had to adapt to since it is an underwater mammal. They are capable of diving to great lengths although most of the time they do not have to. Their high-speed swimming does not last as long as their slow-speed swimming does and they only sleep with one hemisphere of the brain at a time. (Seaworld.com)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The <strong>second</strong> prototype consists of the phone case being layered with a thin piece of insulation throughout the base of the and thick pieces around the edges and corners.<br><br> In the <strong>third</strong> prototype the phone case has a thick layer of insulation throughout the base of the case and a thin layer around the edges and corners. This would allow for the heat to be retained to the base of the phone keeping it from shutting off due to cold weather.</div>]]></description>
