Born with an innate ability to detect insincerity, Amanda was loath to accept Mark's meager peace offering. The little panda keychain sat on the counter, soon to be forever consigned to the depths of the junk drawer. It was unfortunate, the panda was actually kind of cute. But she couldn't accept the gift, Marie would stage a coup. Marie was a bit of a social pariah, and was unafraid of taking drastic action to avoid embarrassment. Embarrassment like being seen with Mark's peace offering while conducting an anti-Mark crusade.

The imminent gust of wind threatened to force the boat to broach. We were four miles off the coast of Georgia, right off the Wassaw Sound. A fellow competitor sailing his J/105 tried to hoist his behemoth of a spinnaker, but the wind was such were it shredded the sail within seconds. The innate nature of J/24s to slug their way through anything was comforting to us. We were a bunch of teens who were way too far out into the ocean racing a regatta that was created for boats twice our size, but we hadn't consigned ourselves to a weekend ashore. We showed up bright and early, ready to sail and planning to win. Although the gin pole to get the mast up took some jury-rigging and the boat was unstable on the hoist the morning we launched, we considered those setbacks to be but minutiae, and hit the water with everyone else right on time. The first race of the weekend was Saturday at noon. It was planned for eleven o'clock, but a brief moratorium was called by race officials to reset the course due to a weather change. The wind inside the bay was calm, but our weather report had called for a howling wind out on the ocean. To account for this, we set our wizened old storm jib instead of our more powerful genoa because we knew that the genoa would be too much to handle in a breeze. We races around a bend in the sound and beat out to the ocean. It was a tough go, but instead of fear, exhilaration shone on our faces as we plunged through waves more than half the size of the boat. The race was on and we were fully sending it over crests of waves into the Atlantic.

The news was loquacious of him. Every channel had his name and face plastered on the illuminated screen. Allow me to elucidate. This man was no ordinary, everyday angel. This man was a true superhero. Super speed to chase down bank robbers, flight to save passengers from a plane crash, super strength to stop a school bus from colliding with atrocity. He was almost perfect. Almost. With that confidence and inability to hesitate, came many hasty decisions. Moving at the speed of light often means he had no time to enjoy life, soaring above the stars means not being able to look up at them in wonder, having the strength of 100 men means losing the heart and soul of one. human qualities are dissonant with super powers.

Every day the same homeless man was on the side of 17 near the Food Lion in Pawleys Island. His clothes consisted of his weathered leather jacket and dress pants that were once new. He wore sandals that the straps were mangled with dirt and dust. His sunken facial features were highlighted with dark lines that gave him a cadaverous appearance. No one knows how he got to this point but deep inside he is willing to start his life again and is redoubtable that he can ever get his life back. The general austere manner of the general public were not supportive to him at all. One day a successful man saw him on the road. He parked his car and walked over to the man. They had a long conversation which led to the successful man taking the homeless man to his house and offering dinner. The homeless man was later able to get a job and start his life again. The beneficient action of the man saved the homeless man's life.

There was a spelling bee located at Low Country Prep. During the spelling be there was a sadistic judge who hated certain people. He gave them really hard words and the person that answers them always gets it wrong. One day it all changed when a the judge asked a person to spell sententious and he got it right. He then asked him to spell potpourri and he got it right again! The judge was being berate by the crowd.

The carnage of last nights soccer game kicked off with Alex falling and hurting his ankle in the beginning of the game. We were obdurate in not giving up or letting off the gas at all. We had 3 infirmities during the game, Blake, Alex, and Ford. Alex’s foot was turgid and purple, Blake’s leg was tightening, and Ford’s leg was dead. When the clock has be depleted of the time, we had come out victorious in a 3-0 win.

There was once a girl named kourtney, she was a very amenable girl and was very kind and generous. One day kourtney decided she wanted to learn to play soccer. Unfortunately soccer is a very complicated sport and the ride to become good is very tortuous. Kourtney didn’t give up though because she was determined to become a great soccer player. One day in practice kourtney was doing a drill and she messed it up causing the coach to berate her in front of the whole team. He wanted to kick her off the team but she supplicated him to let her stay. He saw her potential and drive and allowed her to remain in the team. Later on in the season he told her that him almost kicking her off was a criterion to see how reliable and determined she was. Kourtney ended up receiving the award for MVP and ended with an amazing season.

The sunlight streamer through the blinds illuminating the tiny room. The once depleted energy of the little girl cane flooding back as the rays brought life back into her eyes. Her eyes were the ocean on a calm day, glittering under the scorching sun. Her mother had supplicated her longing for her to leave her room and go anywhere. At last that spark has returned to her as she rose to her feet and opened her door. She seemed to glide down the tortuous stairs and with each step she became more and more confident. Her mother had thought it was an infirmity of some kind and to see her bright face again lit up her face with joy.
