Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Osama Bin Laden himself were the primary individuals in Bin Laden's death. The main challenges were the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, the demand that Bin Laden be turned over to America from the Taliban, Bin Laden's call for an uprising against the United States and its allies, his claim of credit for the terrorist attack of 2001, his threats of additional attacks against the United States, and the raid of his hideout in Pakistan were the main issues surrounding his death. The results that remained hidden from public view are the worst. The vacant place at the dining table.¨The worst outcomes are those that were unseen to the world. The empty seat at the dinner table. Children who were forced to grow up without their mother or their father. Parents who would never know the feeling of their child's embrace¨(Barack Obama). Obama knew that there was a need for justice and was not willing to stop until justice was served. ¨Over the last 10 years, thanks to the tireless and heroic work of our military and our counter terrorism professionals, we've made great strides in that effort. We've disrupted terrorist attacks and strengthened our homeland defense¨(Barack Obama). After a number of years of searching and unsuccessful raids America finally had a successful raid. American citizens had mixed reactions. Some were happy to hear the news and celebrated getting justice for his attacks Others weren't so happy and were concerned about how Al Qaeda would respond imagining the potential backlash. Overall, there was a sense of closure and relief all across America. ¨The death of bin Laden marks the most significant achievement to date in our nation's effort to defeat Al Qaeda¨(Barack Obama).

The Obama era affected president day America positively in a sense that it grew our military power and opened America's eyes to the harsh reality of terrorism. Obama states ¨Yet his death does not mark the end of our effort. There's no doubt that Al Qaeda will continue to pursue attacks against us. We must—and we will -- remain vigilant at home and abroad¨(Barack Obama). It's important to pay attention and listen to what he said because it could very well be true and if it is you would want to be prepared in advance unlike last time where it was a mess with thousands of casualties. Throughout the years America has been improving on making it harder for terrorists to have a successful attack. Now in the year 2024 the United States military is stronger than ever and airport security thoroughly examines their passengers before boarding. The examinations include x rays, pat downs, background checks. Since February 2002 TSA has intercepted more than 1600 firearms and more than 58,000 box cutters. Although all of these weapons might not be a part of a failed terrorist attack it is a good thing to know that airport security works and will remove weapons from passengers before entering the aircraft.

Dodd-Frank law, Is named for its sponsors, Barney Frank in the House of Representatives and Christopher Dodd in the Senate, the other main individual involved was President Barack Obama. After the 2008 financial crisis the government knew they needed to create new laws and systems in order to prevent another financial crisis. The Dodd frank Act creates a new agency to protect consumers from being exploited by banks, credit card companies, and other financial firms. But the problem is that it leaves a lot of the details to be worked out by the federal regulators. The problem with this is that it gave federal regulators too much power when it came to influencing the financial system. Regulators issued proposals that would lower debit card fees and require banks to hold more capital. But even with the positives the Act offers, some of the law's supporters worry that Dodd-Frank may not end the too-big-to-fail problem. The too big to fail problem was brought to attention whenever a big company or industry would fail, resulting in a drastic change in the market. “The financial industry has filed lawsuits against specific rules from the Dodd-Frank Act. These lawsuits aim to challenge regulations such as those related to speculative commodities trading and shareholder empowerment. Including a proposal to curb speculative commodities trading and another rule that would empower shareholders to oust company directors¨(Protess). If these specific rules change it would benefit the people everyday lives and the economy tremendously.

The Obama era affects present day America in many ways, one of which is the Dodd Frank Act. The Dodd-Frank Act prevents a repeat of the 2007–2008 financial crisis and the need for further government bailouts. “The Dodd-Frank Act has introduced regulations that have a direct impact on the profitability of financial companies. For example, it includes provisions that restrict derivatives trading, which was previously a profitable venture for these companies. It also imposes limits on certain activities and creates rules to address excessive risk-taking and lavish bonuses ”(Dodd-Frank Act Becoming A Reality For Banks). Resisting high-risk trading is good because it helps solve the problem of too big to fail since it limits the amount of risk companies can take. “Never again. No more taxpayer-funded bailouts. That was the goal earlier this year when Congress began work on a sweeping overhaul of financial regulations.¨ For the people of America, this was important since if successful, there would be no more need for taxpayers to pay for bailouts. Personally, I love this concept, I feel that hard working Americans should not be liable to pay taxes for problems that they would not have benefited from if they worked out successfully.
