First, my friend Jessica Thomas. She is from Mexico. She is a Mexican writer. She’s 25 years old.

She is a very energetic person. She likes to travel every month. Her favorite food is pizza. She is also a talented singer, but she’s a little shy.

My other friend is the opposite. His name is Eduard Nicholls. He is a reserved person and he doesn’t like to go out. He is from Chile. He’s a Chilean Math teacher. He is 27 years old. He is a very responsible person. I think his job is very difficult but he likes it.

I like my new friends. They are interesting and fun people.

A day in the life

Hello everyone, my name is Nicol. I want to share with you a special day in Peru. It’s called All Saints’ Day. It is a religious celebration.

People usually celebrate this on November 1st. On this day we always remember our deceased family. Families often go to the cemetery and they bring presents to their loved ones.

They also eat “Guagua” bread. This kind of bread has an animal or baby shape.

Peruvians usually make offerings in this day, like food, clothes, flower crowns, etc.

This is a celebration to remember the saints too. People always pray to the saints in this day.

This is a very sacred celebration for Peruvians.

Peru Independence Day

On July, 28^th, we celebrate the national holidays. On this day, we remember the Peru Independence by Jose de San Martin.

We always place a Peruvian flag on our houses’ roof and we also wear a red and white cockade. Besides, the government always organize a Military Parade in the city center.

In the morning, people usually watch the Military Parade on TV. There, the president gives a message to the nation.

In the afternoon, some people often have lunch in restaurants to eat Peruvian food, like green rice, causa, lomo saltado or ceviche.

At night, some people usually go to musical concerts. There, musical groups play different Peruvian musical genres, like cumbia, huayno and creole music.

This is a special day for all Peruvians.

Going places

Hi Tania! I’m happy for our trip to Cancun next week. The airplane is small so we are going to take only one suitcase. I have a list of things that we should take.

Since we are going to go to the beach, we should take sunblock. We shouldn’t take heavy clothes; we should take light clothes and hats. We also should take money and our phones. We shouldn’t take cameras; we can take pretty photos with our phones.

We should take some personal hygiene products too, like toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and towels. We shouldn’t take many cosmetic products though. Maybe we should take some snacks for the flight.
