The theme is similar to curiosity killed the cat. The characters help build this theme because Pandora was told not to open the box but she did. The setting was that Pandora was brought to their house to open the box and bring death to the human. Two sons of a Titan weren’t sent to the lower world, they were Prometheus and Epimetheus. Prometheus wanted to help the humans out because he noticed that the people were freezing cold without fire or food. Prometheus begged Jupiter to give the men fire but Jupiter disagree. Jupiter didn’t want mankind to overruled the kingdom. Prometheus left Jupiter and his company forever and went to help the humans. He found something that could help them out.  He made something and got flames from it. He took it to the people and built a fire for them. Everyone was happy again and Prometheus started to teach them other ways of life. Until they were all happy again. Jupiter realized what Prometheus did to give them fire and was angry. He thought on how to punish him and the people. Jupiter made a woman to send her down to Prometheus and was given gifts with powers. Each person gave her a trait of her own and named her Pandora. Mercury brought her to where Prometheus and his brother were at. She was very happy to be Prometheus wife and be in a home.
But she was warned by Athena not to open the casket that Jupiter gave her. She thought it could be jewels. One day, she decided to open it but when she did, creatures came out of there and went to the house of the people. They were diseases and brought death and sickness to them. She was bale to close it before one of the creatures could escape. That is how Jupiter made their life more miserable than before.
