Both social media and technology have a positive and negative wellbeing in the upbringing of young children. As much as technology is overrated and used almost in every aspect of life it has a very big discouraging impact on children. Such as providing all the information and doing things for the children in terms of homework's and school activities. Some they often don't even spend much time on their books because they're busying watching videos games and movies, which leads to poor academic performances results. Excessive internet use can replace healthy physical activities, cause health issues like obesity, carpal tunnel, and eye strain, and impair kids' cognitive and social development. Children should be given the opportunity to critical thinking and problem solving without relying on internet. In some cases, you'd realize that they don't even use these smart phones on school related things but on discouraging apps like Facebook etc. Well kids differ some do use internet in a useful matter such as do research on their future careers or even a school assignment. Therefore, a careful balance and guidance is needed to ensure that kids use the internet to their benefit and not to their detriment.

I think that kids need to be monitored and do a time schedule on the amount to time spent on social media and the time spend on other social activities including schoolwork because internet reduces the ability of a child to do better.
