no.2
Due to the fact that Australia is one of the largest countries with low population densities, the government has introduced a great number of laws to increase the population such as immigration policies. Although a large population can boost the local economy in a short term, keeping population smaller can benefit both environment and society. This essay will argue Australia should not significantly increase its current population. It will focus on environmental issues and social benefits it may have.

No.3

Increased population offers significant economic benefits. This is because larger population means more taxes and revenue can be gained by the government. According to Hartwich (2015), population growth can offer more workers for market and gain more taxes. This suggests that there will be financial support for the ageing problem, which means the government has more budget for pensions and health services for an increasing number of ageing problems in Australia. Therefore, a larger population is beneficial to solve economic problems, especially for an ageing population.

1.Recently, there has been a controversial debate about the increasing population. Proponents believe that this upward trend could be beneficial. However, critics claim that the explosion of population may break the balance of economy and society. This essay will argue that growth of population should be allowed in Australia. It will focus on economic and social benefits.

4．Another reason is that increasing population will probably decrease the quality of life. In order to increase population, the government accepts excessive immigrations, which prefer to live in big cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. This will cause the problems of according. More citizens need more accommodations; this may lead to urbanization. In addition, this also cause less space for infrastructures. For instance, many apartments have their own swimming pools and gyms. And also many parks and gardens around buildings. If there are considerably population, these areas will lack of space. Because of this, Australia should not accept a large number of immigrants.

With the increasing population, the environment in Australia will be adversely affected. This is because large population leads to consume more natural resources. According to O’slhion (2016), Australia is a dry island which lacks water resources to supply for a large population. He also said beyond 30 million people, Australia may not be food-secure in drought years. It suggests that raising population needs a mass of resources.
