His theory/ model also showed that the sun, moon and planets revolved around the earth. The flaw with this model is that it failed to show how planets change brightness.

Ptolemy placed the Earth at the center of his geocentric model. Copernicus' model claimed that the retrograde moved in epicycles; each planet had it's own axis/point to rotate on. The flaw with this model was the at the epicycles and rotation were complicated and it made it difficult to understand.

Nicolaus Copernicus was a mathmetician who proposed a heliocentric model. His model showed that the planets orbited around the sun. Copernicus also believed that the earth rotated completley once a day around its own axis. The flaws of this model madel are that the orbits were all at the same speed, and many other of the planet's movement were not able to be explained by this model.

Kepler believed in the Heliocentric universe. His main discovery and belief was that every planet in the solar system moves in elliptical orbit instead of a perfect circle. He also stayed that the closer a planet was to a sun, the faster it moved. However, while he predicted the ratios of the planetary system, the data did not match up for all planets.

This model of the solar system was heliocentric and proposed by an Italian Astronomer, Gallileo. With the help of the telescope, the four moons of Jupiter were discovered. Using the telescope, it was also found that Venus went through phases, much like the moon did. These new pieces of information proved the heliocentric model to be more accurate. Although the model was motsly accurate, Gallileo beleieved that the earth had tides relative to the Inconsistewnt orbit around the sun, which has been proven false.

This model was geocentric, and the main conttrribution was the theory that the moon reflected any light from the sun. The issue with this model however was tha it failed to explain how the stars were formed, moved in the solar system.

The solar system model propsed by Isaac Newton was heliocentric, and claimed that the universe was infinite. His model and theories introduced gravity which further improved his model by being able to explain orbits in the solar system. Although gravity was introduced, planetary movement was still unexplained.
