The Panthinans Dome was the arguably most amazing Building in all of Ancient Rome. It was the Biggest unsupported building. The dome in the middle of it the dome was nearly 150 feet tall and wide. The dome was not supported by supports but rather by three different reasons make it stand. The first reason was that the walls around it are over 20 feet thick, Second they mixed in lighter stones with the concrete. They also had Coffers these allowed the suffice of the dome to be decorated but at the same time help the the dome not clapse. Also They had the dome thinner than the rest of the build. The Last reason was that the center of the dome was cut out Eliminating a lot of the stress. But the one thing that nobody can figure was that why was the entree about 10 feet shorter than it should be. why they used 40 feet poles not 50 feet poles will remain a mystery. Another mystery is who designed it.

-Jonas

pantheism dome

I think what makes this building so unique is that there are no beams holding up the ceiling it is the walls. I think this will effect us because this building can help us with our architecture today and make it so we can have a stronger foundation.
It effects the Romans because they can learn from their mistakes.

The dome is 150 feet high and expands the same length across without any support of columns of buttresses. Roman concrete like concrete today used aggregate usually stones to bond the concrete together. The molecules is ta thirty foot hole in the ceiling. It is used to release some tension from the middle where the most tension is. It is also used for light.
- Spencer Rowe

They will make the aqueducts on a slant, so it will keep flowing, the aqueducts I think, helped us to create tunnels and gave us the trick for building arches. But when you think about how the aqueducts help us today, how did we know that we can get water off a mountain, we wouldn't, I know what your thinking, "But at least one person would figure it out." No! It would be like a domino effect. So that is what the roman aqueduct helped us do today.
-Quincey Anderson #1

Pantheon taught the Romans how to build really good with cement. It's sitting at about 150 feet wide and tall. It also has a 30 foot wide hole in the ceiling. The 6000 pound roof was pushing out on the walls and if they took the wooden frame out it would have fell so they had to figure out a way to make it so it wouldn't fall. So they built 20 feet thick walls so it would with stand it's own weight. The way it affected us, is the way we build and architect our houses. They also molded the walls and showed us a model on how we could build and taught us history about the ancient Romans.

Other than that, the aqueducts supplied two other water sources. One was public drinking fountains. The other were the Roman baths, which were pretty much like giant swimming pools that you took baths in. Yeah, the concept is strange, but aqueducts were ingenious creations. I also think that it is incredible that the Romans dug tunnels through mountains just to get their drinking water to their city. -Luke D.

Then the rest of the water goes to the Roman emperor and the public drinking fountains. I think that this changed the Roman's life because they did not have to go get water from the rivers or the stream or lakes or anything.

How did the Pantheon, a huge 150 foot dome, change the Romans' way of life? Well, it was the gateway to larger buildings, arches, domes, and so much more! The Romans started using domes more, they found out how to make a strong yet humongous structure without it collapsing, all the while disguising some of the supports as decoration! They even lit the whole room without using candles or anything else! How did it change our way of life? it taught us ho to build incredibly huge, strong domes without them collapsing, and now we use it just like they did! Take a look at the white house, or even the Springville Library!
- Auralee

Their were three mane use for the aqueduct the first was to go to the fountain and the second was to bathtubs and the last one was the water that rich Romans could use and they would have to pay for the water. I think that this had a big influence on us now because it is kind of like sewers. The sewers we have go under ground but still bring us water that we need to do stuff. All so the sewer is used for other things which I will not bring up. That is most likely of where the world got the idea to do the sewers. In the video it also said that it was really easy to build that is one reason that they had a lot of aqueducts.
-Jonathan
Haderlie

Roman Roads are very important to us, as well as the people that lived in Rome. The Roman roads were as straight as possible and had milestones. The milestones were a very big help to the Romans, and changed their lives by helping Romans know how close they are to another place they are going to using the milestones. Nowadays, we don't use milestones, but we do use roads. Most roads are concrete so the ground can allow various vehicles to drive on the roads without having any troubles. However, we still use some Roman roads today! -Kira Crandall

They also used it to go to battle or to attack someone. I think that this changed the Roman's life because they did not have to walk in the grass, they knew how far they were from the next city from the stones that they put there. I think that this inspired us to build roads for our cars to ride on. I think that this also inspired us to build sidewalks for people to walk on.

-Cy

First of all, what are aqueducts? Aqueducts are paths from a water source to a Roman city, gradually sloping downward extremely slowly, while the water inside speeds along. If there was a mountain blocking their path they would tunnel straight through it, and if there was a valley, up came a supporting wall, all the while maintaining the same gentle slope downwards. If the depth of the valley became too great, in came an arched wall, yet another example of amazing Roman architecture. Using arches to support things is a way of saving material while still maintaining good support. How did this change Roman life? Well, it gave them clean water, provided running water, and filled their public baths. How did this change our way of life? It taught us how to make running water and gave a good example of Roman architecture.
-Auralee

Aqueducts changed the way of roman life because it made it so people could have clean, running water. Also, they used the arch. The arch was extremely helpful because it used less material, and stronger. They aqueducts were tunnels that were ever so slightly slanted. They were not that complicated, and helped the Romans a lot. It influenced us because now we have running pipelines that evolved from these ancient aqueducts.
