There's no doubt that life is impossible without brain. All our organs and systems of organs obey the brain. If the child was born without brain, unfortunately, he will die. There are no machines or surgery that will help him. 
The main function of our brain is to manage our organs and systems of organs. To do that it needs neurons and a system of transmission.  The brain gets, processes and transmits information to organs and systems of organs. Even when we sleep our brain works.
Unfortunately, eight out of ten older people suffer from the brain's disease. It's called dementia. People can also get diseases that harm their vascular system of the brain. It could be an atherosclerosis or the worst of all is a stroke. It is important to remember about some tumours, cancer and a lot of different diseases of brain. 
Often when our brain doesn't work normally people have a problem with communication and movement. When a brain suffers from diseases doctor can help and prescribe some treatment.
