All co-taught classrooms are heterogeneous with NO MORE than 1/3 of the students being identified as "struggling/IEP". Teachers are STRONGLY encouraged to avoid filling co-taught classrooms with students who would "benefit" from working with two teachers. The students who are on IEPs and require specialized instruction are able to access curriculum right along side their classmates in a way that is just right for them.
