Modern day humans are most likely more intelligent than the Neanderthals were. Although, they're not completely stupid, contrary to popular belief. It's believed that they painted and decorated their bodies, and might have also played a primitive flute. Scientists have also discovered that neanderthals used tools, buried their dead, controlled fire, and probably had some other similar intelligent behaviors.

Neanderthals were mostly carnivorous, but during some hard times they might have resorted to cannibalism. Scientists have recently discovered that neanderthals cooked vegetables and ate them quite often. Humans nowadays have similar eating habits, aside from the cannibalism. Most homosapiens haven't resorted to cannibalism in recent times. (I hope.)

I chose this topic because I thought it was interesting and simple to do. Prior to doing this project, I thought neanderthals were just a bunch of stupid humans that lived a long time ago but I realized that they are far more complicated than that and they were actually pretty intelligent creatures. I also learned that Neanderthals are believed to be completely different creatures from humans. There are some theories that humans might have killed off the neanderthal population, and there are some other theories that say they might have all reproduced and eventually the Neanderthal and Human species just mixed into one giant species. I'm still wondering exactly what happened to the neanderthals, though. It's kind of a controversial topic and I'm glad I gained some insight on it from doing this project.
