After Peuchen returned safely he was interviewed by different media in New York. He mostly criticized the managers and crew members saying things like , “They seemed short of sailors around the lifeboats,” and also, “I imagine this crew is what we call in yachting terms as scratch crew, brought from different vessels. They might be the best but they were not accustomed to working together.” But he also received a lot of negative criticism saying he was selfish and did whatever he could to get a boat. The later he retired from the army at the begging of WW1.(Encyclopedia Titanica)

He died in 1929 and was buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
