Catching Fire
I read the second book of the Hunger Games. I think that though the beginning is really boring, the end, the third part especially, is very good. I would rate this book 4 stars, because I was not drawn into the book at first. Katniss, after she won the Hunger Games has to marry Peeta, because if she doesn't, the districts will rebel. But it would be all right, except that Gale, her friend 'cousin' is now breaking their friendship. How will she manage to like both Gale and Peeta is the whole interest of the book. I like how Cinna makes Katniss into a mockingjay.

Inside Out and Back Again
With the Vietnam war started and their father missing, the main character Ha, and her family have to move to Alabama, by escaping Vietnam. I would say that my favorite character from this book is the 'cowboy' who houses Ha's family after her run. He would have been harassed if anyone found out about the Vietnamese family. I would rate this book with 3 stars, because it is good, but I think it needs a sequel.

Queste
My favorite part of the story is when Snorri and Nicko meet Ullr and Jenna. I also like that Septimus's Questing stone went along with their journey to save Nicko and Snorri. I am excited that from the first book, the 4th book (this book) is so good. I would rate this book 4 and 1/2 stars because though it was great, it may have been better (just a bit). I feel terrible that poor Epianiah had been inhabited by a Thing. It just gives me creeps to think of a feeling of suddenly finding you friend frozen at you door, and though you know he's evil, you don't want to leave them. I think that this is great book to read, especially once you get used to the characters in the series.

A Book With a One-Word Title

Pathfinder
I really enjoyed reading this book, especially going along and seeing how the fragments at the beginning of each chapter turned into one whole, and at the end how good the story ends with half-end-half-cliff-hanger. I think that my favorite character would be Nox, who stood up to Rigg and understood him. I think that Rigg should not have trusted Cooper or his mother, but only his sister. His mom was a traitor. I think that this book would be rated 5 stars because the beginning is a easy-in, and it is very hard to predict that 'father' was one of the expandables and was a machine that left no path. I have no idea why Rigg would like to shut the walls off, especially with his mom waiting to kill him.

Horizon
This, though a short book, is very good. I think that its really interesting that though they landed in a jungle, there were the tropics. I understand why in the story, their compasses were not working, it was because they were at the real North Pole, so the compass could not point downward. I would, overall, rate this book 5 stars, because it takes quite an imagination to write such a book. I would say that my favorite part of the story is when the friends Kira, Yoshi and Anna find the hologram of the jungle and realize where they were the whole time.
