  • What do you hope to learn during this class?
From this class, I hope to learn how to recognize and be able to teach a child who faces more challenges while learning. As a teacher I want to help all my students in any way possible.

  • Do you have preconceived notions about Special Needs Learners? If so, what are they?
I honestly don't have any notions that I can think of. I just know that a lot of people say special needs people are children with down syndrome. I have learned that no, down syndrome is not the only children in need. Some children can't learn likes others so they need extra help, but that doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong with them.

  • What do you plan to do to be successful in this course?  I plan to get all of my school work finished in time and to volunteer at schools to get a better understanding of what Special Education is about. I want to be able to understand and achieve good things as a teacher in the future.

  • Will the kind of student you are now reflect on the type of teacher you might become? Why or why not?  Of course they will! You have to start off with a positive mindset to achieve your goals. Showing up on time for school teaches you how to live in the real world. Getting experience in the field now allows you to be confident and ready for the future. Right now you have to step up and do things out of your comfort zone. Doing all that now will make me a good teacher.
