I feel like it's unfair and sad how some people are rejoicing about the election results. Especially those who mostly don't REALLY understand the great effects of this so called “Pagbabago” that they want. It's sad that many were fooled by the trolls and the fact that one troll even admitted to his doings, as if he has no remorse over what he's done by simply saying “a job is a job”. Everyday I feel more terrified and worried about what will happen if this would continue. Mawawalan na na talaga Ng karapatan at boses ung mga mamayanan? Seeing that after they posted election results there were some allegations of red tagging already. The so called to be elected candidates are already making their move by announcing what they would want to implement and so far I see no good for those new changes. Even though it may have some purposes but in my opinion it wouldn't help solve the drop out rate of students. It's so sad how people from other countries are somehow mocking us by saying we've chosen someone bad over someone who is good. And omg the. results in the Senatorial lists I can't. They've chosen an artists over a lawyer who served the country for 30 years:(((
Plus there are many candidates that are related or relatives:// I thought political dynasty is bad yet we tolerate this??? I wonder how will our country be now after they get in power and are declared as “the new administration"? Will change really happen? is there a possibility for us to be truly free? I hope so because this is honestly too much. Our country might literally sink from more debts. Hindi na talaga uunlad ang ating bansa sapagkat KAPAG mayrrokng corruption SA ating gobyerno walang Paran upabg mabayaran ang ating MGA utang at Hindi nakakapagsimula magpundar ang ating bansa.
-🐸

honestly, i just cried for 3 straight days because it hurt so much that our/my future would literally be on strings. I was also just so fixated to why they want him to lead alongside with the daughter of our current president. Like what is the exact reason aside from him wanting to "change the narrative" or escape the image of his father? The story of my aunt saying he'll use the money from europe for the PH seems too good to be true because what happens if he won't? I feel like people assume too many things that they don't do their research before voting, they only follow what these people say.

I've been fighting these fights through my socmeds and I just feel so annoyed how everytime I'll receive a message saying "to stop" or "accept mo na talo ka na" it breaks my heart everytime because they don't realize what they did.

It was already unfair and unjust that many things were "assumed" and came to life. The fact we're going into a new school year with those two people leading and literal actor who has not much experience in being senator proves a point they won't adjust for the youth but we have to do that ourselves with their big change of military service, more corruption, international investors pulling out, etc.

di pa tapos ang laban 🌷🌷

I am feeling so sad because they vote a less qualified candidate over a very qualified one. They aren’t thinking of the youth and what would happen to the youth. I’m honestly scared for my future and others as well… because they voted a person who didn’t even get a degree. What has HE accomplished these past 6 years? He was quiet these years, only doing minimal help. What hurts me more is that, the voted him because they don’t want a more qualified person to lead us, when she has been helping us all from the start. “Why bbm?” is a question they can’t even answer when asked. They would rather vote a person who has been involved in scams, dosen’t have a clean record, banned in some countries because of his cases. People are so blinded by money, it isn’t even theirs but okay. I saddens me as well because are they just going to forget what his family has done to the Philippines? They killed a lot of innocent people for no absolute reason. And yet they still vote the son, what would the victims think? People want “Pagbabago” but chose to forget the past. People are so close minded that they refuse to believe people with actual sources, experiences and history books, and listen instead to trolls on social media.

I'm honestly terrified at what the future holds for us. I don't really trust him because my father and several others I know suffered under his family's regime. While he is not his father, he also didn't denounce the death and destruction of the past and continues to deny it rather than trying to even apologize and work to undo it. I don't like that people is trying to rewrite our history and trying to erase the experiences of others. Sure, some might have had good experiences but that just makes them privileged and will not change the terrifying experiences of others. I'm genuinely just anxious. - 💐🌼🌟🧊🎇🔵✉️

I’ve never really cared about elections before maybe because I was too young or I didn’t know much, but now it’s really so frustrating and I’ve been so depressed because this time we are not even choosing the ‘lesser evil’ anymore. We finally had the ideal candidate who was more than qualified and had already done so much for the country and would do so much more, so looking at the tally was truly devastating. If these people will really be the ones in power, they will more likely than not rewrite history and brainwash as many as they can. And that is just so wrong and so disrespectful and so unjust to the victims of that time. It is also very dangerous because history could repeat itself with this. I just hope and pray that the PPCRV count shows our candidate in the lead instead.

So, I thought I should write a simple message as an attempt to calm MCHS down on this situation, I hope this makes you feel better :

Hi MCHS! I know that the elections may be stressing you out a lot. But let’s try to think on a positive note and hope that BBM would end up proving us wrong, just as he promised. I know that this message may not help at all, but please remember to take care of yourselves. Everything would be alright! <3

I’d also like to add to please respect the opinion of others. Don’t get me wrong, I support Leni. But even though 31 mil people has voted for the son of a literal dictator, please don’t go hate on them, sending death threats, etc. This is how elections work, majority wins.

Last Monday, the stock market was a sea of red following the elections - amounting to a loss of more than 24k on my end. Investors-like myself-feared for the economy and dumped their shares. It was devastating.. a loss riding into the thousands for both parties. It's unfortunate that better candidates did not get the position, but at this point, what can I do? I'll just try to tolerate the inane results.

What I will never do, however, is forgive him. He doesn't even acknowledge the fact that he grew up on the money of the people. He STOLE our money and lived a life of luxury as we suffered. He plunged us into a debt so deep I am destined to pay it when I come of age. Those years were a time when the people were oppressed and punished for speaking out. My family will #neverforget, and we hope you don't too. Social media can paint those years in a better light, but as responsible voters, you must seek the truth, not your fb page.

Oh and please don't get me started on the senators! Lord save me TwT Fully capable and qualified candidates we're wasted! Did people not take their vote seriously? Have we reverted to a standard dependent on popularity over quality? Come on, guys. This is seriously disappointing.

-anonymous🐭

I know a lot of us can't really accept what just happened so quickly in these past days, I just wanted to say that it's fine to be overwhelmed, okay to be in disbelief, however whatever stand you're in, at the end of the day we are still Filipinos and should continue to fight for what you think is the best for our country. What we are facing right now is truly the sad reality but it teaches us to accept whatever is given to you, from opportunities to unpredictable events, know that its all for a reason for us to get stronger and continue our fight in the long run. Keep in mind that not one bit of our hard work and endurance while campaigning and showing our support for Miss Leni was wasted. It taught many of us Filipinos to fight for what is right, and thats how you know that you've won.

The victory of Mr. Marcos isn't an excuse for us to leave the Philippines, bash others nor bring others down. It is an excuse for us to learn from our mistakes, educate more people to avoid repeating this mistake and to next time, VOTE FOR SOMEONE BASED ON THEIR CREDENTIALS, NOT POPULARITY OR WEALTH. Indeed it is sad that majority of Filipinos voted for a son of a dictator, robber and someone with 203b tax. It is what it is and we can't do anything about it. #NeverAgain, they say, but why did we manage to repeat history? Anyway, let us use this as motivation to fight harder, work stronger and unite ourselves with each other. The best we can do now is to pray for our new president, pray that he proves us wrong and hopefully does our beloved country right.

Andami na akong sinasabi HAHAHA Last na toh. I will never regret showing my love for the LeniKiko tandem. They are surely leaders whom I will never forget. They were able to teach me that there is a good side to the Philippines, and that there is still hope for our country. When I talk about the 2022 elections to my future family, I will proudly recall and tell them about the rallies I've attended, the support I've shown to them and the endless amount of prayers I've said to them. The unofficial election results was a real bummer but I'll make sure to never stop showing my gratitude and gratefulness to them. 💗💚

As said, hindi pa tapos ang laban, nagsisimula palang.

First off, I feel like the country has failed those who were tortured, suffered, and sacrificed themselves during the Marcos dictatorship. There are still people alive who've had first hand experience and yet here we are.

I've accepted the results na and I hope this administration will be fruitful but it's quite disheartening to see the state of Philippine politics, and especially during the elections regarding information dissemination through the media (fake news, the use of trolls, etc.) and the mindset that Filipinos have in choosing a candidate as well as believing that no matter who they vote for, the state of the country will remain the same. I don't know how we can make this better right now.

Other than that, I'm proud that many of the youth are actively engaging in politics and being aware. However, the outcome of these elections were a massive slap in the face to those who were unjustly arrested, tortured, and killed during Martial Law. Many of these victims are alive to this day.

honestly the results are really disappointing. we had a chance to finally make a change for our country and we blew it. we chose probably the most corrupt people to lead us. Bongbong marcos, son of ferdinand marcos who initiated the martial law, where all filipinos were tortured and killed without mercy. the marcos stole our money and was banned in america and in switzerland. a leading candidate with no degree, no occupation for the past 6 years, and started to run for presidency because of a stupid excuse as watching an antman movie. can’t the people who are privileged to vote realize that senator bong bong marcos, the leading president candidate, is not a good role model to your kids? to our country?? sara duterte, daughter of the current president, she initiated the military service for all 18 year olds, male and female. they will be required to serve for our country without the person’s consent. yes, military service is a great idea in case an unexpected war came across us. but mandatory? what about the students who are the breadwinner of their family? and what’s with the k-14 idea? although mrs. sara duterte dismissed the idea of k-14, theres still military service. current number 1 senator, robin padilla, an ex-actor from the philippines. it makes me uneasy knowing that he will be leading us when he openly admitted in the media that when he becomes a senator, he’ll just use the money and not even show his plans, if there are plans at all. we wasted chel diokno, leni robredo, and kiko pangilinan. it’s most likely that they won’t run in the next 3/6 years. other countries are making a mockery of us because of our governance. filipino artists can’t do their job properly because their customers are scared of us. children can’t speak up because apprently we’re not “educated”. when bbm wins, he will change history. the history when martial happened and all his father’s wrongdoings. and sara is there to help him. everyone is gonna forget abt our past because of some incapable “leaders”. and lastly, comelec. i’m so disappointed in them for choosing to give their loyalty to the marcos rather than to their people. pointing guns at innocents who is begging for good governance. the whole election races was clearly suspicious. comelec was given 6 years and a lot of money to prepare for this elections and what happened? old machines. i’m glad pccrv is taking action when comelec is staying quiet all this time. i’m scared, angry, and most of all, i’m disappointed in those who supported the wrong people. i also wanna add how suffocating it is being a leni-kiko supporter in a house filled with bbm-sara. it’s like they’re not family anymore. my father voted for bbm-sara so that his income as a police man increases, but what abt my future? our future? is your job more important than all the people in the philippines? i know my father is doing this for our family as well, but is it really that more important? so many people are blinded by the luxury they think they’ll have and i’m really tired of it. i really hope the leading candidates will prove me wrong, prove everyone wrong. i hope they can actually lead well.

Honestly, I tried listening, but all they brag about are the achievements of the father and not the son. It’s very frustrating because I really wanna know and understand BBM’s side but all I can see is sure, Ferdinand Marcos Sr. is a good leader, but is his son as competent as him?

I'm really disappointed in the results of the elections. I don't really get how Leni didn't win even though she's a good candidate. She's done a lot for the country already and she definitely could have been a great president. I'm also annoyed, furious and worried about the fact that Bongbong Marcos won. I don't know how some people could be uneducated on what he and his family has done. I would not consider him a good candidate because he committed tax evasion, refused to return the money he stole and did not even have a full graduate diploma. His father, Ferdinand Marcos, was a dictator who declared martial law, tortured and murdered many people and stole our money. The Philippines has many corrupt and horrible politicians but Marcos is the worst. To sum things up he is a cruel and evil person. It's sad for me to think there's nothing we can do about it anymore. As much as I don't think BBM deserves to have this position at all, I just have to accept it. I'm really hoping that he at least won't be as bad as his father.

I was honestly really confused why they voted for Marcos. We were watching the news and when I saw the results, Marcos was at like 24,000 votes and Leni was at 14,000 votes. That is such a big gap! I'm not even sure if most of that was true because I heard a rumor that people were paid to vote for him. All I have to say is that our country is.. pretty screwed. We had our chance to vote for a proper president, someone who can provide a better future for our country and our children. Leni literally had all the qualities! Then, we chose one of the most problematic ones, the guy whose dad tortured and killed most of his countrymen.

I remember when I was in Grade 5, we were studying about the presidents of the Philippines and we had a lot to learn when it came to Ferdinand Marcos. When I first heard about the torture methods they had to go through when martial law was implemented, I was heartbroken. What happened to "Never again, never forget"? It's like people are just tossing aside an important part of our history. This is literally why we learn these kinds of things. So that we can learn from the history of our past and create something better for our future. But I think we just created a very dumb choice. Even Neil Gaiman, the author of Coraline, is disappointed in us guys :( (I'm not joking, search it up)

I just hope that things will turn around soon, for the better. In the meantime, lets continue to fight for what is right. Stay safe and healthy y'all ❤

It's so frustrating and disappointing that the future now supports a murderer and the practical Asian version of Marie Antoinette's son who got a special diploma for special subjects after Philippine diplomats had to beg them for it, even the people who survived his father's regime are now saying they never saw any corruption. The power of the internet and how quick information is spread from god knows where are just read by the younger people. They continue to say how Leni didn't have much political experience and yet she spoke in front of her supporters and acted on situations unlike Marcos who hired someone to let the public parrot his so called actions and skipped every presidential debate. And yet they continue saying Ferdinand Marcos Sr. did things for the Philippines, whatever you did before doesn't excuse how many people you killed and how much money you used for yourselves. We're repeating history blindly, these people are electing the exact person part of a family that put us in financial debt and until now the taxes are still being doubled. The 10 billion we owe was only lowered to 4, now that Marcos is posed to be president the Hawaiian collection sealed in the Philippine Central Vault is going to be taken again by the corrupt first lady. The next future? I can't see any hope in speaking up anymore, multiple children's books about the Martial Law are being subtly edited. We have no more hope especially if the children now are being fed lies to make them support Marcos who's going to be re-elected again and again while this place gets driven into the pits of hell. Hope? Future? Good luck trying to defy a dynasty especially with a senator turned Muslim actor and convict supposed to legislate laws. There will never be another president outside of their dynasty now that he's in place, we have nothing against the on hold struggle with the Spratlys. If you thought Duterte did nothing well Marcos is going to have us become China's province. People are so gullible. They say he'll be different from his father but how will they know if they're already dead by the time he officially becomes president. When the streets run red with their countrymen's blood, they'll be responsible for all of this.

I don't get it? I strongly believed that the person whom I thought deserved the title would win. Her campaigns had lots and lots of people but for some reason her votes were always lesser than a person whose family was known for stealing from the government. I know I know, I shouldn't just judge a person based from family history but why did BBM have to lie about stuff? One lie I can think of right now is him graduating from a school (forgot the school) and the school confirmed he didn't. Maybe I'm just biased but I know he cheated somehow. I think me suspecting he cheated is me just coping with the fact he actually won and thoughts like "what will happen to the Philippines now that someone like him is our leader?" or "Will the Philippines still even be a country after his term?" Before the elections, I was confident that Leni Robredo would win and even said that if BBM won, I would move out of the country. Haha... Now rosas just makes me wanna cry. Until now, my opinion stands true that Leni Robredo should have been and is the best candidate to lead our country. I think this is just a coping mechanism as well but for some reason I still haven't lost hope. Maybe they would declare something like "BBM actually cheated! Let us make Leni Robredo our president!" Yeah but I don't know anymore if that would happen. It is so frustrating because I can't even prove he cheated. One thing I am also scared of is how people will now perceive the People Power Revolution. I have a younger cousin right now and I feel when she gets older, she would be filled with these thoughts that the martial law was a good thing and actually helped the country! I just hope the truth comes out and the whoever is in charge will take action. I will remain a kakampink till then.

I am one of the people who cried tears of sadness as the results came. I was left confused and upset, but most of all I was afraid for the well being of our country, especially the youth. I still cannot understand how VP Leni didn’t win since she had many many supporters and—based on my research—she seems the most qualified for this election based on her history and self qualities. I was on social media as the counting was happening and it also pained me to see how many other people were angry and afraid with the results. I wish there is still a little hope for us as we wait for the PPRCV results. I also want to note the fact that most Leni supporters are part of the youth, many are unable to vote. While I am proud that the youth are siding with what I and many people to believe is the best candidate for the presidency, I cannot help but be disappointed that the younger generation knows more of what is best for their country apart from the older generations. I do wish that people are to recall the events of the People Power Revolution and remember what people had to fight for during that time. I also hope that we do not forget the wrong doings Bong Bong Marcos and his family had done. It is a shame if we would have to see history repeat itself since we might have our president be named Ferdinand Marcos again.

I am an active person on social media and I've been vocal about the elections until now. I've seen a lot on Twitter, people are sad and depressed. I understand and relate. As a Grade 7 student, I want to study and finish school under a Leni-Kiko administration. From what I've learned about Ferdinand Marcos, it's terrifying to have his son sit in the Office of the President when we could experience Martial Law again but worse. It's depressing to see the country like this. We can't even have a clean and fair election without the Marcoses cheating (and we have a bunch of proof, actually). I tear up every time I think about the next 6 years. For 6 YEARS we have to live under another Marcos regime. I'm frustrated. Why would you vote for murderers and thieves and an actor (just because he's good-looking and famous) instead of exceptional and experienced politicians with great credits, and platforms? I can verify that these politicians have done something for the Filipinos, especially during the pandemic. They have put out sensible and effective projects just to help those in need, but no, #his supporters choose to bring back the "Golden Era". The era where people got detained, tortured, raped, killed and so many people were stolen from. The Marcoses haven't even returned the money and they evade taxes. Their family killed thousands and haven't apologized, even glorifying a horrible time in Philippine history. They refuse to take accountability for taking the lives and money of thousands of Filipinos. The only reason BBM ran was that he wishes to clear and protect his family name. What about your country? Is clearing a name tainted with blood and the suffering of people better than helping a falling country. The "golden era" people are referring to dug this country's grave, deeper even. They built useless buildings that we don't even use today and kicked people out of their homes that they earned just to export animals that don't even belong here. Stop glorifying a horrible era. I'm glad that Angat Buhay is still in service and even putting out an NGO program to fight disinformation. That's what a leader is. People who help even after defeat, people who help even after their countrymen talked bad about them. People who help the Filipinos, not the money, not for the fame, not for the power. Kulay Rosas and bukas, MCHS. Titinding tayo. 🌷

- Orange Batch's Dela Rama

I am legitimately terrified of what will happen to us. I was seriously hoping we would actually get a legitimately great president and vice president this time. I’ll try to be optimistic, but I can’t say that will last for very long. I hope that this won’t be AS BAD as I hope and that our “VP” won’t force people to go to the military.

I was honestly shocked when I heard about the results. I was working on a digital piece when my tatay came in and asked what I wanted for take-out. When I asked why, he told me the news. All I remembered saying was "What? How?" It was literally 11pm and I forgot about the elections entirely because I didn't want to observe mom voting. Over midnight snack, we discussed about it for awhile. I remember wishing that emojis didn't exist because the BBM and Sara supporters were celebrating.
And since my parents were feeling down, I told them there was hope in thinking that BBM would want to change the legacy his dad left behind. Maybe they would do some good in this country. But seriously 24,000 to 14,000?! I had expected a much higher vote count for Leni, but dad explained that this is proof that the Philippines isn't ready for a good government yet. And I think he's telling the truth. I put the blame on vote buying and people who edit out the real story of Martial Law on Wikipedia and spread misinformation. Vote buying especially. Some of my teachers explained that since this country is so poor, lower class people would do anything they can in order to get money. So they would take bribes (usually a VERY high sum of money) from presidential candidates. One of my lolas (a Martial Law victim herself) had told us that this needed to happen so people would get a wake up call. I think that we should prepare for what could happen in the future, revolts/rebellions, new laws that might be impractical or straight out bad and to prepare to move to another country if the economic and political situation here heats up to a boiling point. (If we are going to allowed to leave in the first place...) When I went onto YouTube, while trying to expel my thoughts mind you, everywhere on the news section was talking about the presidential elections. I worry about this country's future. But I do hear from my parents that there is evidence of a rigging and God do I hope that's true. Maybe this wouldn't last very long and maybe people can realize their mistake.

i respect other's opinion about who they think is best to lead the country. I was honestly surprised when i learned that bbm and sara duterte won the elections. I just hope that the family and friends maybe even fellow leaders around them will guide them in making good decisions for their people. when i heard that sara duterte will make a law about smtn with military or community service (idk), i was pretty excited because yk we serve the country and the citizens. i just wish that they would prioritize the safety of the people participating. but lets just pray to god that this wont descend to total chaos.🙏

also stay safe everyone 👍
