         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Roman Catholic is the major religion in the Dominican republic. Another religion is Judaism. </p><p>2. Christianity was brought over by Christopher Columbus and Spain. Judaism was started when a synagogue was built in the capital.</p><p>3. Christianity is a universalizing religion while Judaism is an ethnic religion.</p><p>4. Christianity is a monotheistic religion because followers only believe in God. Roman Catholic has a more strict and formal worship style then other branches of Christianity. The Sacred Text is the Bible. The architecture is a reflection of faith and are usually beautiful buildings that are focused on their designs.        <span style="font-size: 13px; color: rgb(102, 102, 102);">Judaism is a monotheistic religion. Their worship style is recitation of prayers from the siddur. The Sacred Text is the Torah. The architecture is varied depending on the place of the Synagogue.</span></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Spanish- Many came from Spain and therefore speak Spanish. Also, these people are predominantly Catholic.</p><p>2. Taíno- These people came from the Bahamas and South America. They speak the Taíno language but have converted to Spanish. They practiced the god of zemís but, like before, have ocnverted to Catholic because of assimilation.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Woman in the Dominican Republic are overwhelmingly using prostitution as a way of earning money and a way of life. Woman are very discrimiated against and live a traditional life. Domestic violence is often overlooked and a huge problem. Woman that do have good jobs aren't payed fairly.</p>]]></description>

Also, Traditional music in the DR can be traced back to the Taíno indians living there a long time ago.</p><p>2. Baseball has become a major sport in the DR and many players have gone onto the MLB. Likewise, Hip/Hop has taken off in the younger population of the DR.</p>]]></description>
