Also she had to repress some talents such as being good at math due to stereotyping. Another thing is that she had to change a bit of her self because people couldn't get along with her because she wasn't white or black. Due to this she degraded her own race and began to loose bits of pieces of herself. On her birthday she received a game called " Sims 3" and she had customized herself and her family white because she never once though that she could make the characters look like her. She felt that the only options were to conform to the stereotype that was expected her, or to the people that surrounded her. Also she was almost always recognized for what she looks like rather than who she is. Also Canwen said that she made her family white in the game Sims 3. When she was young, she wasn't proud of who she is. Personally, I remember when I moved to Georgia from a highly populated Hispanic area, I quickly realized that not everyone here looked like me. Especially with being a kid, we never want to be the odd one out. I now understand the stereotype "all Asians are Chinese." I often remember students asking if I was Mexican and me having to explain that not all Hispanics are Mexican.
