When authorities found and arrested Anne and her family the soldiers dumped all her dairies onto the floor. Her diaries were something that she really enjoyed and were special.

No, it was not in the play but it was in the movie. I think it was not in the play because the play was more based on her inner thoughts not about her feelings of losing the diary.
