Notable Scholarships:

• API Scholarship – $500 for students of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage (due Oct 10, 2025).

• Plural Publishing Research Scholarship – $3,000 for Master’s/AuD and PhD students (due Oct 17, 2025).

• Frances J. Laven Scholarship – $5,000 for graduate students at CAPCSD member institutions (due Nov 12, 2025).

1. Hard of Hearing or Deaf Scholarship

• Purpose: Supports undergraduate students with clinically significant bilateral hearing loss.

• Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen.

  • Minimum 40dB bilateral hearing loss (verified by audiogram).

  • Pursuing a full-time bachelor’s degree at a U.S. college or university.

  • GPA requirements:

  • High school seniors: GPA from grades 9–11 and first semester of grade 12.

  • College freshmen: GPA from all of high school and first semester of college.

  • College sophomores or higher: GPA from all completed college semesters.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.2 (unweighted).

• Application Period: November 1 – March 31 annually.

2. Communicative Disorders Scholarship

• Purpose: Supports graduate students pursuing degrees in audiology or speech-language pathology.

• Award Amount: $1,000 per recipient.

• Eligibility:

  • U.S. citizen.

  • Enrolled in a graduate program accredited by ASHA’s Council on Academic Accreditation.

  • Minimum cumulative GPA: 3.5 across all undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral coursework (including most recent fall semester).

• Application Period: November 1 – March 31 annually.

• Working or planning to work directly with children.

• Pursuing graduate level studies for one (1) year in fields which address the special needs of children and youth; this includes, but is not limited to, Counseling, Psychology, Mental Health, Special Education, Speech Pathology, Exceptional Children, Remedial Skills Development, Hearing Impaired, and Gifted & Talented. Scholarships are not awarded for graduate work in administration or general education.

• A U.S. citizen and a permanent resident of a state with a Junior Auxiliary Chapter: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee.

• Planning to attend a U.S. college or university for full-time or part-time study.
