Note to Professor Pankratz

Dear Professor Pankratz,
I've never gotten a note like this in college before. As an aspiring teacher, these notes mean everything and I'm sure in the first year of teaching I'll look at it a lot.
I know I was very opinionated right off the bat and I appreciate that you took the time to hear me out and consider my feedback. I was very happy to be in a classroom environment where my work and voice was valued.
Thanks for a great 8 weeks and for going above and beyond by creating a FORT study guide. I will absolutely be using it.
Be sure to take your own advice... give yourself grace :) You did a great job, especially for being thrown into it last minute.
-Jamie Stanislawski

Book I Want...

I love all the different strategies in this book. I think in my first year this would really help me feel like I have more guidance and am not just "thrown to the wolves." I know exactly where it is in Barnes and Nobles and have it on my birthday wish list! I would also like the writing strategies book by her.

Cheers & Circle Activity!

I love how sweet this activity was. It was such a great way to promote a positive mindset as we work on our final projects. I would absolutely do this activity in my own classroom.

I also liked the circle activity. Sometimes I don’t think teachers really sit and read through everything so it was nice to see all of our concerns addressed directly as these were concerns we all shared.

Most informative -Writing Workshop Guide

I really like having a format for writing workshop. Sometimes, with all the emphasis on choice, it feels like there is not a lot of room for structure. I like seeing that we can still have structure and provide choice at the same time.

This week made me reflect on what my teachers did during writing workshop. They played classical music (which put me to sleep). As an adult, I like to listen to Lofi instrumental playlists when I’m working and I think other students might like this too! *Please note I have not listened to this specific playlist, it’s just an example.*
