They all realized he was gone, and there was no going back. Then the characters began to panic, and started thinking of how to get out of it. No one remembered who had the remington rifle last but they had all touched it at some point during the day. The teens were intoxicated and reckless. They had drugs and were fooling around. Things we do not know.
