         <description><![CDATA[<div>Amir only does the right thing to find redemption. We learn about all the great works Baba does in the beginning of the book before we know about his sin. I wonder if Baba is only building orphanages, taking care of Ali, standing up for others, etc. to redeem himself. I wonder if Baba is more like Amir and is distant b/c Amir reminds him of his own shortcomings. </div>]]></description>
