_Christmas tree

At the base of the Christmas tree there are ancient customs ,typical of various cultures , to decorate the "Tree of Paradise" with ribbons and colored objects, torches, small bells, votive animals and the belief that the lights that illuminate them corresponded to as many souls. Trees were adorned with cosmic symbols of the Sun, Moon, planets and stars too.

_Candy cane

In the late 1800s a candy maker in Indiana decided to express the meaning of Christmas through a candy-shaped stick. The colors of the candy cane have a specific meaning: - White: symbol of the purity of Jesus; - Three red stripes: the suffering of Jesus on the cross. The stick form is reminiscent of the shepherd who is compared to the figure of Jesus and, if it overturns, it becomes the letter "J" for Jesus.

_The Christmas Stars

Tradition says that this flower has always been linked to the preparations typical of Christmas.Itwas originally the gift of a child to Jesus. A December 25 distant past, a poor child entered the church to offer a gift to the Lord on the day of his birth, but he was so poor he could only bring a bunch of weeds, but on those branches, of humble origins, the baby fell a tear, which miraculously turned the leaves in a beautiful red flower: the Christmas star.

_Advent wreath The Advent wreath originated from a German tradition of pre-Christian times, it comes from the pagan rites of the light that is celebrated in December. In 1500 spread among Christians, becoming a symbol of the days leading up to Christmas. The green branches symbolize the hope, while the four candles symbolize the four weeks before Christmas. Every Sunday will light a candle. Tradition has it that every candle has its own meaning: the candle of the prophets, to Bethlehem, the shepherds and the angels. Initiation of any candle should follow a moment of prayer and a hymn to Mary.

_Presents

The meaning that is the basis of giving is a giving without receiving anything in return. It would seem a gesture and in itself, absolutely personal.
