Yesterday, Sunday the 9th, 1941 December, we the American people were the target of a direct attack by the Japanese. They trick us with false hope of peace and then go behind our backs. The Japanese used air and land attacks to kill the young men at Pearl Harbor. Yesterday Japan also attacked many other bases of our allies thinking they will get the jump on us in this war.

We as an American people must come together and recognize the universal threat that Japan is. The Japanese think that 6000 miles of sea will slow us down. We won't let it. Nothing is going to slow us down.

We will not let Japan's backhanded tactics shake us into fearing them. This evil must be purged to protect the American people and every other person who will be subject to Japan's cruelty. The military arm of America will fall on the shores of Japan like a tidal wave of paralleled force and any Japanese resistance will be squashed like an ant on a train track. Japan if you can hear me am coming for you.

Sleep with one eye open if you can even manage that. I will haunt you until you cave or die. There will be NO glimmers of hope for you. Every day you will wake up hoping we stop or forget so you can be safe. But that day won't come. It will NEVER come. Nothing you can try or think of will ever be enough to keep you safe. JAPAN YOU ARE DONE AND YOU SHOULD START PRAYING BECAUSE YOU ALL GOING TO DIE.

Propaganda poster

By portraying dollar bills equipped with guns and armor, the poster creates a striking visual metaphor that equates financial support with direct participation in wartime efforts. This visual metaphor not only captures attention but also reinforces the idea that purchasing war bonds is akin to arming and protecting the nation.

The slogan "helping money, fighting money, growing money" serves as a concise yet impactful rallying cry. The repetition of the word "money" in different contexts links financial contributions to active engagement in the conflict, framing the act of buying war bonds as a form of combat against the enemy. Additionally, the phrase "growing money" suggests that investing in war bonds not only supports the war effort but also offers potential financial growth, appealing to individuals' self-interest while simultaneously promoting national solidarity.

The use of the term "war bonds" itself is significant. By labeling these financial instruments as "war bonds," the poster associates them directly with the patriotic duty of supporting the nation during times of crisis. This terminology imbues the act of purchasing bonds with a sense of urgency and importance, framing it not merely as a financial transaction but as a vital contribution to the war effort. Overall, through its imagery, slogan, and terminology, the poster effectively employs propaganda techniques to mobilize public support and encourage participation in wartime financing.
