         <description><![CDATA[<p><ul><li><p><span>Must know facts about Guam.</span></p></li></ul><p>By: Elzy, Dylan, Emily, and Sean.</p><ul><li><p>The location of Guam is in the middle of the pacific ocean, it is 30 miles long and between 8 and 11 miles long.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>The country of Guam was acquired by spain in 1668 but the spanish first landed on the island on March 6, 1521.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>The reason why Guam was acquired is because a spanish explorer had originally had 5 ships but on sank and the other ship that had seen the other ship sink fled, the captain and the crew were very thirsty and hungry, they saw the island and they knew they would have died if they hadn't landed there and got some food. &nbsp;When they landed there they got food and fresh water and met the Chamorro natives there, The crew and the captain really admired the Charmorros so they stayed there and they taught each other things about each of these countries.</p></li></ul><ul><li><p>The us defends Guam by fighting with the Guam people. During WW2 the Japanese had taken over Guam, the americans reclaimed the Guam’s citizens freedom again.</p></li><li><p>Guam’s opposition to the U.S’s control is not native inhabitants, but the U.S helping Guam when Guam couldn't fight back because the population of the country was so small and most of the people were farmers and they didn't know how to fight.</p></li><li><p>Guam’s purpose for the U.S is to ship out the tropical fruit that the U.S would not be able to grow. Some of the tropical fruit include papaya, mangos, bananas, coconuts, guavas, and limes.</p></li><li><p>The current economic situation in Guam is favorable and improving, the tourism percent is going through the roof, and now the current population of Guam is 162,810 people.</p></li></ul><br><p>Some other interesting facts:</p><p>By: Emily Hayes and Sean Anderson.</p><ul><li><p>National flower: Bougainvillea flower.</p></li><li><p>National tree: Ifil tree</p></li><li><p>National song: Guam’s Hymn. </p></li><li><p>National language: English &amp; Chamorro. </p></li><li><p>National bird: Marianas Rose Crown Dove.</p></li></ul></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>G<span style="font-size: 13px;">uam's beaches aren't made out of sand there actually made out of crushed up coral and the roads are crushed up coral and cement mixed up.</span></p><p>Guam has many creatures that are native to the country but there is one that isnt and that is the brown tree snake and the snake was brought to Guam b the world war 2 ships.
