Named to this role in 2018, Peter Heintzelman replaced W.T. “Chip” Nelson, the cooperative’s former CEO who retired in March of that year after working in the field for 45 years. Mr. Heintzelman brings a varied background to the position that has seen him in such roles as president, CFO, and director of energy companies around the world. Over the course of his career, he has lived and worked in Dubai, London, Texas, Maryland, North Carolina, and Haiti, thus granting him a unique understanding of the energy industries in different areas of the world. Beyond that, Mr. Heintzelman has become familiar with numerous operations in the field, most notably change management and restructuring and growing businesses via mergers and acquisitions. Outside of work, Mr. Heintzelman shares his extensive leadership experience with other organizations, such as the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and the Atlanta Area Boy Scouts of America.
