How my parents moved to the United States

My mom and dad were initially married in Pune, India from where they then moved to the United States. After a few months of living in the United states, they welcomed my older brother into the world. They set up a cozy house in Virginia and started their own small family. A few years later, they decided to have a new addition to their family and had me.

I am an Indian- American and I am proud of both my cultures, namely my new-found American culture and my roots back in India. I love my rich and diverse traditions, movies, music, and history of my Indian culture. I especially love the fact that my great grandparents were freedom fighters who fought against the colonial British empire. On my American side, I love the new opportunities provided to me and the bright future ahead.
