I think a designer should be able to adapt because, art should be something you can change and adapt to. For me I think art is like water. Always in a free form state, taking changing to adapt to the shape it's in.

Designers should always have a balance of both personality and genre. A genre will act as a good template or base for what to work on/with. But when making something, they should always try to make it their own, because their unique style is what most people gravitate to and makes them stand out against the competition, even if that means going outside the genre's boundaries and usual traits.

I think a style can be incredibly important as it can establish a brand or signature. Of course, it is great experiment and try different styles, but if you have a certain style down people are more likely to come to you, as you have what they need. Clients are more likely to come to you if your style is unique, as it stands out and offers something that the other styles may not. Art doesn't need to conform to be good.

A designer should try and work outside of their comfort zone and style and try new ones, because they might find something they might like and add onto theirs. Designers can adapt new and creative ways to inspire their work and might even draw more attention from enjoyers of that specific style. Its nice to give new traits to a style one is familiar with.

It would primarily depend on the situation. If they were requested to work on a certain project with a client that already has a style in mind, they should try to appeal to the client. However, if they get a commission by someone that sees their work and likes their style, they should stay consistent. Although, if building a portfolio, for example, the designer should maintain a personal style to stick out from the majority.

I think the designer and client should work together to, one, figure out if their ideas and vision are compatible, and two, figure out if the style fits the brand of the client so the artist doesnt lose their vistion or feel they have to create something they may have troubble or stuggles creating. in the end its about colaboration and being flexable for the client and the artist.

I think a designer should stay to what they are good at and like. When a client looks for someone, they look for someone who they think can do a good job for them and they do that by looking at your work. If a client finds a good designer and picks them but then all of the sudden the designer is trying to "re-learn" a certain style of graphic design because that is what the client might have ask, that is bad. Designers have skills in certain genres and can perform different genres really nice. So this is what I say. A designer should only change genres if they are good at it, otherwise just stick to what you are amazing at and your work will already be unique and better than someone just coming into the space/genre

I think a designer's style should stay within their range of how they do stuff, so it is recognizable and noticed all around. But adapting to the client's ideas is also important so they can try out new ideas and basically have an open mind, and they might end up actually liking it.

I think that an artist's style should always be recognizable, but it shouldn't disrupt the genre that the artist is working in. A balance between the artist's style and the genre they are working in will stop the artwork from being jarring, while making sure the artist's style identity isn't lost.

Always good to try different styles and experiment with different things. What your comfortable with your comfortable with. i also believe you shouldn't step to far away from what the orignial piece was communicating.
