A social group is a place where individuals identify themselves as we or you, us or them. “In-Group is a social group in which an individual identifies himself as “we” or “us”. In sociology and social psychology, an in-group is a social group to which a person psychologically identifies as being a member. Or people who belong to the same group as you.

By contrast, an out-group is a social group with which an individual does not identify. Or people who belong to a different group than you. Out-group is a group that is outside other groups which are accompanied by the emergence of antipathy, prejudice, or antagonism. Example: the racism that happens to black people who are among white people. People may identify with their peer group, family, community, sports team, political party, gender, race, religion, or nation. It has been found that the psychological membership of social groups and categories is associated with various phenomena.

INGROUP EXAMPLES:
Ingroups exist across all aspects of life, both in human and non-human settings. Simple examples of ingroups include:

apples and bananas (they are both fruits)

chairs and tables (they are both furniture)

two classmates in kindergarten (they are both five-year-old students)

soccer balls and basketball hoops (they are both pieces of sports equipment)

Examples of ingroups in everyday life include:

a religious community (shared beliefs)

a sports team (shared commitment and goals)

a small business's employees (shared workplace and goals)

a family (shared identity with one another as being part of a unit)

OUTGROUP EXAMPLES:
Outgroups exist wherever there are ingroups. Simple examples of outgroups include:

a cucumber and a slice of bread, alongside an apple and banana (the cucumber and bread are not fruit).

a window, alongside a chair and table (the window is not furniture).

a first-grade teacher, alongside two kindergarten students (the teacher is not a student, nor part of the kindergarten group).

Examples of outgroups in everyday life include:

non-religious neighbors next-door to a religious community center (the neighbors are not members of the religious community).

the marching band performing at a sports team's game (the band is not part of the sports team)

Reaction (50 words or more) :
Write your opinion about the main point / your critical review

In social life, we should avoid out-groups because they will cause social disharmony. Even though we belong to many groups, we are emotionally attached to only a few groups. Our relationship with our family, our friends, and close neighbors (in the village/village not in real estate) feels closer, more personal, and more touching to our hearts.
In-group and out-group also produce ethnocentric attitudes. The feeling of being in a group or out of a group is based on an attitude called ethnocentrism, namely the assumption that the habits in the group are the best compared to other groups.

Reaction (50 words or more) :
What you have learned or the problems you have during extensive listening, how did you deal with the solve problem

I learned a lot about in-group and out-group. Honestly, I also just found out that there are social groups whose names are in-group and out-group. Maybe I've felt or even often do in-group and out-group with my classmates. Like when I like Korean Boyband and my friend likes it too and when my friend like a ball and I like badminton.

I didn't have too many problems. The words were a little bit easy to understand. but there are only a few words that I didn't understand but more or less I understand what it means.

Self-assessment
The speed was OK | YES |
The vocab was OK | YES |
The pronunciation was OK | YES |
This effect my listening skill | YES |
I think my listening skills are improved | YES |
