The survey wasn’t relevant for some of us due to us not working with students in that way. As an instructional designer you create digital courses, but don’t interact with the people taking the courses.

It was hard to know how to fill in the survey: is it what am I doing now, what I used to do, or what do I want to do next time?

It’s hard to get students to actually take part and do their assignments. They seem like they want a degree but they don’t want to put in the work to get it. Using the emotional presence can be effective in getting them to engage in class.

Technology presence is a generational question. Different generations use their mind or the technoogy differently. Store the information in their brain, or knowing where to go to find the information? Social media is a kind of escape and makes them forget what’s important.

There may be a difference between expressing emotions in a face-to-face communication and expressing them online (in an online forum for example). And emotions may also vary in different cultures.
According to recent studies, negative emotions could be even more important than positive ones.
And most of group members had problems with scoring the survey results. :-)
.
