Most of the Iban people are based in the Malaysian state of Sarawak, Sarawak is state located across the South China Sea in East Malaysia.

Regions with significant numbers of Iban people: Malaysia - 745,400 
Indonesia - 281,000
Brunei - 20,000

Total population: 1,046,400

The languages majorly spoken are Iban (with different dialects based on areas they live in) , Bahasa Melayu and Bahasa Sarawak which is a Malay dialect. Gawai Dayak Day also known as Rice Harvesting Festival where people worship the Lord Sempulang Gana by visit each other, dancing , and offering Rice Wine (Tuak) to visitors and it can lasts for a week.

Gawai Burong is held to honour the War God, Sungalang Burong. The festivial is initiated by individual from time to time and hosted by individual longhouses . They originally honoured warriors but evolved to healing ceremony as peaceful times. On eof the important aspect of teh festival is recitation of pantun.
