The theme is to be nice to others even if you don’t know them. Dorothy is a nice person for helping scarecrow. Scarecrow is a patient person and very polite because he did not ask he waited for her to ask. A line that was important is when Dorothy let him down. Scarecrow felt grateful for getting of the pole stuck up his back.
