As time went by, people kept drawing, illustrating, and painting—anything that could help them remember moments and people.

However, a magical transformation awaited in the 19th century with the invention of photography. This allowed people to freeze time with just a click, forever altering how moments were captured and memories preserved.

The first photograph

Long ago, there were cameras called “camera obscura” but they couldn’t keep pictures. Then, in 1827, a person named Niépce found a way to make images stick. That’s when the analog camera began! It used special film to save pictures. You couldn’t see them on phones like today. When you took a photo, it got saved on the film. Later, you developed the film to see your pictures.

The digital camera

In 1975, Steve Sasson invented the first digital camera. Then, in 1988, the Fuji DS-1P was released, starting a race for better cameras. By the late 1990s, small digital cameras were popular.
