What's more popular today now from Spanish artists not just from Spain but Latin America as well is they Latin pop which is like rock and pop put together. All hispanic societies borrow different genres to make something different. He started his music in the 90's on the Mexican Indie Label. And I had talked about recently of Julio Iglesias and Enrique is his grandson. He recently stated a year ago his next album was going to be the last but he will never stop making music. He has been doing since the 90's which is understandable why he might want to stop soon. 
Enrique's breakthrough song was Bailamos which was released in 1999 and made No. 1 on the charts in the U.S and was featured in the movie Wild Wild West starring Will Smith.

Which were both very popular when they were released. But his music is super upbeat and is very catchy. 
When I was listening to Rosalía music it reminded me of Ariana Grande who is famous in the U.S just the type of music reminded me of her.
