The Lock-Up (Tokyo, Japan)

Imagine being handcuffed by a woman dressed as a police officer, led to a dark cell, and then left to “serve your time” while weird sounds in the background. Welcome to The Lock-Up, Tokyo’s infamous prison-themed restaurant.

The experience starts at the door, where you’re “arrested” by staff and thrown into a jail cell that functions as your dining area. Drinks are served in syringes. The food comes with creepy surprises—like meatballs that “bleed” when you cut into them.

But the real fun happens when the lights are turned off, alarms sound, and the restaurant goes into full haunted house mode. Zombies, mad scientists, and other horror-movie nightmares walk around

Modern Toilet (Taipei, Taiwan)

If the thought of eating out of a toilet bowl makes you want to throw up, you might want to stop reading.

Everything in this restaurant is inspired by, well, bathrooms. The seats are actual toilets, tables are modified sinks and bathtubs, and meals are served in miniature toilet bowls.
