Task 1,2 and 3!
Describe how types of boundaries form:
Relative motion between plates can be broadly classified as divergent, convergent, and transform. At divergent plate boundaries, plates move away from each other, forming great valleys called rifts. Volcanic activity and shallow earthquakes occur at divergent boundaries. At convergent boundaries, plates move towards each other, causing the lithosphere to bend or crumple . The folding of rock,Volcanism(volcanic activity), mountain building (orogeny), and deep earthquakes occur at convergent plate boundaries. At transform boundaries, plates move past one another. Strike-slip faulting and shallow earthquakes occur along transform boundaries, but no volcanism occurs there.

Examples in UAE:

Convergent boundaries: The Jebel Hafeet Mountain Range of UAE is an example of a convergent boundary between an oceanic and continental plate.

Divergent boundaries: Middle East/southwest Asia Ridge and the Wadi Ham Valley. United Arab Emirates is an example of a country undergoing a continental divergent.

Transform Boundaries: A well-known example of a transform plate boundary is the Umm Al Quwain Fault in United Arab Emirates.

Convergent Boundaries occur when two plates collide together. Usually, one plate goes under the other, which is called subduction. Trenches are common when subduction occurs, and so are heavy earthquakes. Volcanoes and mountains are also sometimes formed from convergent boundaries. The Himalayan Mountain range was made from convergent boundaries.

Convergent boundaries are where two tectonic plates meet. This process can lead to a number of geological phenomena based on the types of plates that collide. When an oceanic plate collides with a continental plate the denser oceanic plate is pushed beneath the continental plate which in this case is lighter than the oceanic plate, often creating volcanoes deep trenches in the ocean . when two continental plates converge, they usually push against each other, forming high mountain like the Himalayas. These boundaries can also cause significant seismic activity, which includes earthquakes, as the plates move and deform.
